Social prescribing in Surrey is a free NHS and council-backed service where link workers connect patients to non-medical, community-based support. It addresses holistic needs like loneliness, debt, housing stress, or physical inactivity by guiding individuals to local groups, charities, and practical resources. 
How It Works:
Link Workers: Professionals take time to listen and figure out what matters most to you rather than just treating medical symptoms.
Access: Available via local GP surgeries, primary care networks, and select local pilots (such as at the Royal Surrey County Hospital).
Support Areas: Assistance covers mental health, physical activity, debt/benefits advice, independent living, and meeting new people.

    Local Councils & Boroughs: Organizations like Surrey Heath Borough Council operate dedicated local schemes.
